Draft Mission Statement : Greywater feasibility mapping proj

The Grey water system subgroup is working towards the creation of a map for the Cairns region that will provide information on areas where systems may be installed and areas where installation will not comply with regulation. The group is working with the Cairns Regional Council and Tropical North Queensland TAFE GIS mapping students to complete the maps. Currently soil layers are being further identified for the Mount Sheridan pilot study area. Please see the document deposit relating to this work.

Draft Mission Statement for the Greywater feasibility mapping project

The purpose of this group is to work in a co-operative and consultative manner to produce a clear and concise set of maps and guidelines that will:

1. Enable landowners to readily locate their land; and
2. Clearly identify the natural properties, including groundwater height, soil type and slope, that will affect their greywater treatment options; and
3. State what their greywater treatment options are as determined by the natural properties of their land; and
4. Provide information to support applications for greywater treatment systems that will be readily accepted by decision makers and streamline the approvals process.

The draft mission statement has been put together by Brynn Mathews, PO Box 4547, Cairns QLD 4870
