Trade Mission to India and Sri Lanka 2012

Trade and Investment Queensland invites you to participate in a Queensland Government Infrastructure Trade Mission to India and Sri Lanka from 29 October to 2 November 2012 including attending the Green Building Congress in Hyderabad on 30 October 2012 to 2 November 2012.
The sectors will include Building, Construction, Environmental Technology and Architecture Services.
India’s building, construction and infrastructure sector is an emerging market for Queensland exporters. It is India’s largest industry after agriculture and is forecast to grow more than 10% per annum for the next five years.

The Sri Lankan economy grew by 7.5% in 2011. Program of trade liberalisation and rebuilding presents opportunities especially in the areas of construction and infrastructure, with an emphasis on tourism sector development.

The trade mission will include:

Group business-matching program with key Indian infrastructure, building and construction firms in Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Colombo
Participation at the Green Building Congress, International Conference & Exhibition on Green Building in Hyderabad
Participation at the Queensland Government-hosted event to showcase Queensland’s capabilities to key industry and Government representatives
Site visits and industry briefing

Who should participate:
If you are a Queensland company with products or services in the areas of infrastructure, building, construction and green building, water and waste water management, environmental technology, you are invited to register your interest in this trade mission. In particular:
Building and construction materials: innovative building materials and building product sector which supplies state-of-the-art and cost-effective materials.
Professional services: architectural design and planning particularly for tropical and subtropical climate, tourism infrastructure, feasibility studies, construction, engineering and environment management consultancy services. Sectors include, residential and non-residential building and infrastructure including roads, bridges, airports, sewerage, energy, telecommunications.
Green building: supply of renewable building materials and green building design to consultancies providing lifecycle analysis and eco-friendly procurement.
Water and Waste Water management and Environmental technology.

India’s Green Building Congress 2012

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and the Green Business Centre are jointly hosting the 10th Green Building Congress at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre. The Green Building Congress 2012 will feature a two-day international conference, a three-day exhibition that will focus on showcasing green building technologies, products and services and a one-day exclusive seminar to focus on green aspects in the green homes and cities. The objectives of the Green Building Congress include :

showcasing green building products, technologies and services
networking and business promotion opportunities
facilitating market transformation.



Over 2000 delegates from the construction industry are expected to attend this conference. The IGBC also anticipates the exhibition will attract 100 exhibitors and 5000 visitors. For more information please visit www.igbc.in

Costs:


Participants are required to cover their own costs, including airfares, accommodation, meals, ground transport and insurance.
Registration cost at the Green Building Congress for A$170
A$300 will be charged to each participant for on ground logistics in India and Sri Lanka.


Companies can participate in the full trade mission program or choose cities of interest to them. When registering, please indicate which cities you are interesting in.
