Smart Lifestyle & Sustainability Expo June 20-21 Townsville

Postby Admin » Fri Apr 03, 2009 9:41 pm

Townsville City Council is currently planning a Smart Lifestyle and Sustainability Expo for June 20-21.

Essentially the Smart Lifestyle and Sustainability Expo is a trade show focusing on giving 'green' suppliers a chance to get their products into the market place through a combined approach. Products include solar panels, heat-pump/solar hot water systems, low-flow water devices, etc. We're also looking for door prizes for the Expo at the moment if the Tropical Green Building Network is interested in being involved in that way.

While the Expo is the focal point, there's also a networking function on the night before to get the exhibitors together, a 20-page insert in the bulletin with a site plan and details of the expo, editorial, advertising, and additional information focusing on developing a sustainable Townsville. It is also intended that we will continue to work with these product suppliers throughout the year as an informal cluster.

Tied in to the Expo is also a series of workshops around town during mid-june looking at Thematic Communication (TORE), delivered by Professor Sam Ham. I've attached the date claimer for the first workshop as well in case any one from your organisation is interested in attending. The TORE model that Sam focuses on is an excellent, practical tool for getting your message out into the community, and for making people sit up and take notice. But not only are the workshops useful, they get like-minded people all in the same room, working together and sharing ideas - a great networking opportunity and a big step forward in working towards this goal of a sustainable Sownsville.
