Queensland has the natural resources necessary to become a renewable energy leader. The government is developing a collection of renewable resources maps which include detailed wind data and solar data to assist with renewable energy initiatives.
These renewable resources maps include:
Queensland Wind Map
Queensland Solar Atlas.
Mapping data is available for download from the Interactive resource and tenure maps (ITRM) website for use in developers' own mapping systems.
Additional information on key infrastructure such as electricity and natural gas transmission infrastructure, land and water resources and meteorological information is available. The resource maps combined with the additional information help to identify the best potential sites to develop commercial projects in Queensland.
How to view the maps
View the Interactive resource and tenure maps website.
Click on 'Connect to the interactive resource and tenure maps (IRTM)'.
Click to open 'Renewable Resources' from the left hand menu options.
