The Tropical North Queensland TAFE's application, supported by the TGBN won the full $10M funding from the Governments Training Infrastructure Investment for Tomorrow program because of its green design and the regions need to increase nurses and health professionals.
The enviro-friendly renovation and retro-fit of J Block at the Tropical North Queensland TAFE is to be undertaken by local workers and suppliers. It will be a showcase of green design and sustainability practise. The Cairns Post article (20th June 2009) reported on the announcement and this is attached.
Thank you to all of the TGBN Network members that submitted letters concerning their 'green' products and services to Jason a few weeks ago. Also a big thank you to Jason and his team at TAFE for their vision and work to make this happen for us all to benefit from.
