Eco Learning Camp Greenship Home Assessment

The TGBN supports discussion and information sharing concerning National Constructions Codes & buildings codes energy efficiency performance provisions, mandatory disclosure regulation and thermal simulation software as it applies to vernacular architecture in the tropics. There is a concern that naturally ventilated tropical designs found in Northern Australia struggles to comply and the overall intent of reducing energy use by design is undermined. Eco Learning Camp Greenship Home Assessment
Presentation by Dr Yasmin

Bandung Eco-learning Camp Foundation: Sahabat Lingkungan Hidup

The Eco Learning Camp is under construction on an area of 2416 sqm, as well as additional 3075 sqm for agricultural use. The development is fulfilling the criteria of the Green Building Council Indonesia Greenship rating system for housing. The foundation is operated by a committee made up of members of the community, businesses, the university, architects, engineers and building material suppliers. Sponsors the Body Shop and material suppliers such as Bpanel and Propan.

The project is a not-for profit venture and the foundation regularly hosts children and groups that visit the development to learn about how it supports the environment.

After inspecting the construction site we were also grateful to listen to presentations about the project and discuss the process. We shared our experience with projects carried out by the Tropical Green Building Network.
