HIA presentation: Queensland’s waste reform: reThink Waste

The aim of the subgroup is to focus on Construction and Demolition waste. With the introduction of the new waste levy by the State Government in December 2011 and the knowledge that 'much of the C & D waste can be a recoverable resource’ the TGBN would like to move forward a regional strategy by planning for action on C&D waste recovery solutions with other industry stakeholders, LAWMAC and the FNQ Regional Organisation of Councils. From 1st December 2011 a levy will be payable by landfill operators disposing of waste in landfills. What does this mean for commercial, industrial, construction and demolition waste? The HIA presentation: re Think Waste Seminar to learn more is attached.
