The insulation subgroup is working towards providing clear information to consumers on insulation choices that are cost effective, promote healthy living in the tropics and meet new building regulations. See the document deposit relating to this area.

Community awareness of the new $1,600 rebate and healthy and sustainable insulation choices available to retrofit houses. Main speaker: Emma Thirkell spoke about insulation options and the need to bring peoples attention to insulation batts and blanketts that posed a health threat and retained moisture. She spoke about better insulation products and systems that were available to suit tropical homes.

It was agreed to form a subgroup to produce a fact sheet on insulation suitable for tropical green buildings for general media release.
